Biography
Royal Dumas received a
Bachelor in Music from the Hartt School of Music in Connecticut and went on to
receive a Masters in Music from Southern Methodist University. From the
fall of 2002 until the spring of 2004, Royal taught guitar and music at
Faulkner State University and the University of South Alabama. He graduated cum
laude from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2007. While at
Alabama, Royal served on the managing board of the Alabama Law Review and was
the co-chair of the John Campbell Moot Court Board. He joined the firm in
January of 2008. Royal is married to Patricia Dumas and has two sons.
Experience
In addition to practicing
law, Royal is very involved with the State Bar Pro Bono Task Force and County
Bar Volunteer Committee. In 2010 he was recognized for his work and
received the Alabama State Bar President's Award and Montgomery County Bar
Association’s Volunteer Lawyer of the Year Award. Royal also oversees the
Montgomery County Bar Association Civil Pro Bono Clinic.
