While in private practice, Jeff Holmes was motivated by the prevalence of technology issues in his practice to pursue an engineering degree. Mr. Holmes obtained a Master of Science in Engineering Science and Mechanics from University of Alabama. The degree requirements centered on graduate studies in solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, and dynamics. His concentration was in dynamics, and his culminating research event was an analytical evaluation of the mechanics of a dropped fluid filled bottle.

Jeff Holmes' legal career is broad and expansive. For over 27 years, Jeff Holmes has represented clients in federal and state courts, before arbitrators, regulatory agencies, in contractual negotiations, and as an adviser to businesses in a variety of legal matters.

After attending law school on scholarship and graduating in the top 12% of his class, Jeff Holmes began his legal career as a law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge J. Foy Guin, Jr., Northern District of Alabama. He has been in–house counsel to a Fortune 500 company handling litigation, regulatory, and environmental matters.

In private practice, Jeff’s experience includes litigation of intellectual property, regulatory, environmental, commercial, personal injury and employment cases. Mr. Holmes has experience in both individual and class actions. Jeff also has transactional experience. Jeff Holmes has worked on business transactions involving the transfer of business properties totaling over $23 million.

Jeff’s in–house counsel experience and the broad scope of his practice also has afforded him opportunities to serve businesses in need of broad general representation as an alternative to increasing internal staffing.
