Biography
Richard Phillips is a proud Blount County native, serving Blount County both legally and civically. A 2000 graduate of Oneonta High School, Richard grew up in the Oneonta community. From kindergarten to establishing a law firm, Blount County, and more specifically Oneonta, has been home.
Education:
After graduating from Oneonta High School, Richard Phillips attended Auburn University where he obtained a BFA Degree in Graphic Design, one of the nation's top graphic design programs. After working across the country as a designer, Richard M. Phillips returned to Oneonta and earned his Juris Doctor Degree from Birmingham School of Law where he graduated in the top of his class.
Personal Background:
Before practicing law, Richard was a graphic designer working and living in New York City. After almost five years, Richard relocated to Atlanta where he served as a graphic consultant to trial attorneys. A few years later and Richard was receiving his Juris Doctor and practicing law in Blount County.Richard is an avid photographer and enjoys photographing nature and landscapes. He also tries to travel as much as possible and spend time with his four legged buddies, Onto and Taco-Bella!
Richard is active in his community, supporting the Blount-Oneonta Chamber of Commerce, Oneonta Business Association, Oneonta Foundation for Educational Resources, Wallace State Future Foundatio Board Member, Oneonta Hospital Board Member and he currently sits as Mayor for the City of Oneonta.
